Sharon Davis-Edwards is the visionary President and CEO of S.J. Edwards, Inc., a Merrick-based company she founded in 2005. With over 30 years of experience in insurance, financial services, and employee benefits, Sharon has established herself as a trusted leader in her field. Her career began in the 1980s, and she has since held key sales, recruiting, and management positions with industry giants such as John Hancock, Aetna (now Voya Financial), E.G. Bowman, Inc., and Benefits Planning Corporation.

Sharon’s success stems from her unwavering commitment to helping families prepare for and protect their financial futures. She also specializes in designing tailored employee benefit plans and programs that meet the unique needs of corporations and their employees. Known for her honesty, integrity, and exceptional customer service, Sharon and her team have cultivated long-term relationships with clients, many of whom consider her a trusted partner and friend. Her motto, “We don’t have clients, we have friends,” reflects her personalized approach to business.

A highly accomplished professional, Sharon holds licenses in life and health insurance and has successfully completed the FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 examinations. Her expertise and dedication have earned her numerous accolades, including induction into the Long Island Business News “Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business Hall of Fame” and recognition as Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce’s “Outstanding Small Businessperson of the Year.” She has been featured in Newsday, Long Island Business News, and on Channel 7’s “Here and Now” with Sandra Bookman.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sharon is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She serves on the board of the Merrick Chamber of Commerce and as Vice Chair of the Nassau Community College Business Leaders Council. Sharon’s leadership extends to her role as Vice President Emeritus of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce and her certifications as a Women’s Business Enterprise and Minority Business Enterprise.
